Description Notes

Boys’ radiomicrometer, English, 1890-1900 (c). Probably hand made by Cavendish Laboratory technician.

Rectangular wooden base; three brass levelling feet; four-layer horseshoe magnet mounted horizontally, with removable pole pieces; brass chamber for suspended system; rectangular wooden cover (painted red and black) with holes in ends for radiation, and in top for suspension tube.

Condition: poor; incomplete (suspension tube, suspended system, levelling screws missing).
