Description Notes
Circular wooden base; three brass levelling feet; galvanometer case rotates on vertical axis; brass horizontal divided circle on base, 0 to 360 degrees; two vernier scales on rotating part, 0 to 30 minutes; central post supports two pairs of vertical coils in wooden case; eight brass terminals, marked ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘a’, ‘b’, ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘c’, ‘d’ (Aa is one coil, etc.); two circular, glazed apertures, one plain glass and one a plano-convex lens, with brass threaded rings; suspended magnet mounted on brass stirrup with adjustable weights and glass mirror; slot in post, below coils, to accept horizontal bar magnet, so that galvanometer can be used as a magnetometer.
Condition: fair; incomplete (suspension and tube and bar magnet missing).
