Rectangular wooden box with ebonite top; six pairs of ebonite covered terminals for battery, galvanometer, and three unknown potentials, respectively; two tapping keys; fine and coarse rotary current rheostats; eighteen-position rotary switch and rotary slide-wire calibrated in volts; three position rotary switch for selecting potentials.
