Description Notes

Radiation pyrometer, Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company, 1910.

Cylindrical aluminium case, partly painted black; connected with ball and socket joint to metal tube for tripod mounting; large aperture for incoming radiation, with swinging circular cover plate; adjustable eyepiece with swinging red filter; knurled screw on side with scale on ivorine disk, 3.5 to 25 ft., for distance focusing; glazed window showing white dial and pointer; temperature scale, 0 to 2 000 degrees Fahrenheit; pointer and concave mirror visible inside cylinder. In rectangular wooden box with hinged lid. With Camb. Sc. Inst. Co. repair label, from ‘The Lea Bridge District Gas Co. Leyton’, dated 26-6-1916.

Condition: good (in working order, except for zero adjustment); complete (without tripod).
