Description Notes

Tuning fork stand, by W. G. Pye & Co., English, c. 1922 - 1932.

Painted cast-iron base supporting vertical polished steel rod and holding vertical tuning fork with threaded shaft; three brass sliding clamps: lower, making interrupting contact with fork; central, holding exciting electromagnet; upper, with hole and screw clamp for horizontal rod (also serving as a foot when the instrument is placed horizontally); coiled insulated wire connecting terminal on electromagnet coil to that on contact.
