Description
Robert William Paul designed the Unipivot Galvanometer in 1903. Its single pivot made it highly sensitive as well as robust, which had previously not been achievable. Paul often demonstrated its robustness by using it as a football. When Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company and R.W. Paul Instrument Company merged in 1919, the Unipivot Galvanometer was one of Paul's largest contributions to the new company.
