Description Notes

Binocular microscope used in teaching biological sciences. Metal with black painted finish. Circular base drum like in shape is cut away at front to allow light source to shine on moveable mirror. The top plate to the base has a circle cut away above the mirror; this circle is covered with a glass plate. The stand holding the microscope is tubular and straight upright. The head is detachable; it houses all the lenses which rotate withi. A knurled knob on either side of the head is marked with the magnifications “1” “1,6” “4” “2,5” “1,” “0,63” in that order , it twists both ways to rotate the lenses inside. Other markings on the head are at the front the inscription above, on the left side a grid calculating magnifications. Attached above the head is the binocular eyepiece with X25 lenses marked “PZO” “X25” and makers details with "Nr1804", the binocular piece is detachable. Below the head is the attachment for the light source which extends via a Meccano type arm to a lamp, plugs into mains adapter (not UK plug).
