Description Notes

Mostly black and white with some shading, though two main images have green watercolour.
Top left: cross section of seed;
Bottom left: external view of seed, with small roots growing over it.
To right of above, running full height of page: well-developed roots, while seed is lifted up by the growth of the shoot, and is about to be shed.
To right and below the above: seed with root, less developed than the last.
Bottom centre: green shoot, with two leaves, just about to lose the remains of the seed.
Main right diagram, full height: full grown green stem, with two mature leaves, and some young leaves in between.
Bottom right: oval shaped seed (?) with emerging tube to right.
Hand painted label ‘Ricinus’ bottom centre.
Ref number in bottom left.
