Description Notes
Black line drawing of plants, showing subterranean as well as upper parts.
Soil is marked with small dashes, and undergrowth is drawn on the surface.
There are four or five plants of each species at different stages of development.
Holcus mollis is on left.
Pteridium aquilinum is in the centre.
Scilla nutans is on the right.
Main title is stencilled capitals, species names appear at top, in sentence case italic.
