Description Notes

Watercolours in green, brown and red, showing different stages and views of the germination and growth of Pinus.
Centre, is a cross-section through the just-germinated seed, while above and to the right is an external view of the same seed.
Bottom right is a cross-section at a more developed stage - the green shoot is forming.
Large picture taking up left side shows whole plant view: roots and shoot have developed, seed has been raised up on shoot, and the remains of the seed coat are about to be shed.
Title at bottom centre.
Made of two distinct pieces of paper, mounted on the same backing cloth.
