Top left is a representation of the whole plant of Nymphaea, and top right is a transverse section through a leaf (‘T.S. Lamina’).
Bottom left is a representation of a part of Lemma - four overlapping circles with two stalks downwards. Bottom right is a section through a thallus of Lemna (‘T.S. ‘Thallus’’).
