Description Notes

Seven colour pictures on a black background (inside a white frame) of parts of Laurus.
Main diagram is a picture of the upper part of the plant ie stem, leaves, flowers.
Around it are six numbered diagrams:
1. (bottom left) cross section through flower, with parts labelled with letters. Shows mature anthers, immature stigma.
2. (bottom right) cross-section through flower showing mature stigma.
3. (mid left) view of anther.
4. (top left) cross-section through something circular, the ‘Fruchtsknoten’ (?seed?)
5. (mid right) two drawings of the fruit. 5b is greatly magnified.
6. (top right) cross-section through fruit
On the surrounding white frame at top is ‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen in farbigen Wandtafeln‘.
At top, on black ground, left ‘I. Abteilung.’, right ‘Tafel 11.’
On the white at bottom: immediately under black are the artist’s and publisher’s details; the next line is the species title; bottom line is key to the numbered diagrams, in German.
