Description Notes
Seven colour pictures on a black background (inside a white frame) of parts of Manihot.
Main diagram is a life-size picture of the upper part of the plant ie stem, leaves, flowers, fruit.
Around it are six numbered diagrams:
1. (top left) external view of male flower; ‘Staubblattblüte’
2. (top centre) showing anthers in isolation; ‘Dieselbe nach Entfernung der Blütenhülle’
3. (top right) female flower; ’Griffelblüte’
4. (bottom left) close up of stigma; ‘Dieselbe nach Entfernung der Blütenhülle’
5. (bottom right) the fruit; ‘Frucht’
6. (centre bottom) view of a cluster of six organs which resemble pea-pods but are apparently root tubers; ‘Wurzelknollen’
On the surrounding white frame at top is ‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen in farbigen Wandtafeln‘.
At top, on black ground, left ‘I. Abteilung.’, right ‘Tafel 18.’
On the white at bottom: immediately under black are the artist’s and publisher’s details; the next line is the species title; bottom line is key to the numbered diagrams, in German.
