Description Notes

Five colour pictures on a black background (inside a white frame) of parts of Coffea.
Main diagram is a picture of the upper part of the plant ie stem, leaves, flowers, slightly bigger than lifesize.
Around it are four numbered diagrams, all enlarged, except for 3a:
1. (top centre) flower with anthers; ‘Blumenkrone, künstlich geöffnete’
2. (top right) calyx with stigma (?); ‘Kelch mit Stempel’
3. (left top) the fruit, one lifesize and one enlarged; ‘Frucht’
4. (right centre) fruit, partially dissected away; ‘Untere Hälfte der Fruchthülle mit Bohnen’
On the surrounding white frame at top is ‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen in farbigen Wandtafeln‘
At top, on black ground, left ‘I. Abteilung.’, right ‘Tafel I.’
On the white at bottom: immediately under black are the artist’s and publisher’s details; the next line is the species title; bottom line is key to the numbered diagrams, in German.
