Description Notes

Seven colour pictures on a black background (inside a white frame) of parts of Citrus.
Main diagram is a lifesize picture of the upper part of the plant ie stem, leaves, flowers.
Around it are six numbered diagrams:
1. (bottom left) anthers around stigma, with petals removed; ‘Blüte, ohne Blumenkrone’
2. (top right) anther; ‘Staubblatt’
3. (bottom right) longitudinal section through the style and stigma; ‘Längsdurchschnitt des Fruchtknotens mit Griffel’
4. (top left) whole fruit, lifesize; ‘Frucht’
5. (top left) slice of lemon, lifesize; ‘Querdurchschnitt der Frucht’
6. (top centre) seed; ‘Same’
On the surrounding white frame at top is ‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen in farbigen Wandtafeln‘
At top, on black ground, left ‘I. Abteilung.’, right ‘Tafel 12.’
On the white at bottom: immediately under black are the artist’s and publisher’s details; the next line is the species title; bottom line is key to the numbered diagrams, in German.
