Ten printed colour pictures of parts of Fagus. Hand labelled in ink a-k.
a. (top) twig with autumn leaves
b. (centre) twig with green leaves, and flowers.
c. (centre right) detail of flowers.
d. (top centre left) closer detail of male flower, showing anthers.
e. (centre) female flower.
f. (lower centre left) female flower, with fronds stripped back to reveal stigmas.
g. (bottom left) cross-section through ovule (?)
h. (bottom right) fruit.
i. (bottom right) seed (?)
No j.
k. (bottom centre) seed (?)
Very poor condition. The original chart has been rebacked at least twice, firstly with typed sheets of lecture notes, and secondly with two large pieces of card. The first and second backings are no longer attached at the bottom, so the lecture notes are readable there. The chart itself is badly torn, with three corners missing as well.
