Description Notes

Seven printed colour diagrams of fruit and flowers of Myristica.
Diagrams 1-6 are of Myristica fragrans Houtt.
1. Top centre, cut away of fruit, revealing seed.
2. Top left, longitudinal-section through seed.
3. Top right, cross-section through seed.
4. Bottom centre, cut away of female flower.
5. Bottom centre, cut away of male flower.
6. Bottom left, diagrammatic cross-section through flower.
7. Bottom right, flower of Myristica corticosa Hook.f.et Thoms.
Each diagram has a scale marked beside it. Bottom centre ‘ 1-6.Myristica fragrans Houtt.’, bottom right ‘Myristica corticosa Hook.f.et Thoms.’
The name of ‘Newmann’ seems to be ink stamped onto the printed chart.
Chart has brass reinforced holes at the corners (to allow it to be hung by string).
Fair condition.
