Description Notes

Four printed colour diagrams of flowers of Polygonum.
1. (bottom left) shows the flowers and leaves.
2. (top right) shows one form of the flower, with anthers shorter than stigmas.
3. (bottom right) shows a second flower, with anthers longer than stigmas.
4. (top left) shows a cross-section through something roughly triangular, with red tips.
Each diagram has a scale marked by it.
By 1 is ‘Polygonum Persicaria L.’
At top centre is ‘2,3,4. Fagopyrum esculentum Mnch.’
The name of ‘Newmann’ seems to be ink stamped onto the printed chart.
Chart has brass reinforced holes at the corners (to allow it to be hung by string).
Fair condition.
