Description Notes

Signed inside the case lid on pierced and engraved brass placque with urn and foliate decor ‘R. Glynne Fecit’. The case is leather rectangular with brass edging at the base, top and opening. Contained in the fishskin case are a brass protractor, parallel ruler and inking pen. The brass protractor is 41mm in radius, with a maximum overall length of 60mm to the end of a fan shaped alidade. The alidade is marked 20 to 60 in interval of 10. The parallel rule has bevelled blades of steel and a scissor hinge of brass, shaped and engraved, including central roses front and back. The inking pen has a scriber point in the handle. These are three original instruments to the case, all others (9) are missing and the object was purchased as such.
