Description Notes

Five printed colour diagrams of flowers and flower parts, in the Labiatae.
1. and 2. (top left and right) show cut-away of a flower of Salvia Sclarea L. In the right diagram, an insect comes to the nectary, and, pushing past the base of the anther filament, triggers the anther to drop pollen on the insect’s back
3. (bottom right) shows the flower of Salvia glutinosa L.
4. and 5. (bottom left and centre) show the flower of Lamium maculatum L. 4. is the flower in cut-away, while 5. is the whole flower.
Each diagram has a scale marked by it, as well as being numbered, and given its species name.
The name of ‘Newmann’ seems to be ink stamped onto the printed chart.
Chart has brass reinforced holes at the corners (to allow it to be hung by string).
Fair condition.
