Description Notes

Seven printed colour diagrams, mostly greens and pinks (labelled a-g), showing flowers and fruit of Daphne.
(The German captions come from the label stuck on the back)
a. (left) whole plant, from roots to shoot tips; ‘Blümende Pflanze in natürl. Grösse.’
b. (top centre) group of three flowers; ‘Drei büschelförmig vereinigte Blütenknospen’
c. (centre) cut away of flower, showing positions of anthers and stigma; ‘Eine der Länge nach ausgeschnittene Blüte.’
d. (top right) plant with ripe fruit; ‘Fruchtzweig.’
e. (bottom centre) longitudinal section through stigma; ‘Stempel, der Länge nach durchschnitten’
f. (bottom centre) section through fruit, revealing seed; ‘Beere, der Länge nach durchshnitten.’
g. (bottom centre) section through seed; ‘Same, der Breite nach durchschnitten.’
On the reverse side, a label is stuck. All script is Gothic font, except the Latin species name, which is Roman.
