Description Notes

Two identical square ivorine windage calculators as designed by Oke.
Obverse: 16-point wind rose, marked by initial, with degree scale divided [0] - 360˚, numbered by 10˚, subdivided to 5˚. Rotatable disc within this, marked with deflection scale, divided [0] - 90 - [0] - 90 - [0], numbered by 30˚, subdivided to 10˚.
Reverse: quadrantal plot of deflection against range. Degree scale divided 0 - 45˚ - 0, numbered by 5˚. Concentric quadrants marked at even distance and divided [0] - 80, numbered by 10, subdivided to 5. 3026.1 has manuscript notes on reverse.
Cloth slip cases with plasticised covering.

Condition good; complete.
