Description Notes

Rectangular boxwood rule with one bevelled edge. Obverse has table of range against height of trajectory and table of range and angle of tangent elevation. Along bevelled edge map scale for 2 inches to 1 mile divided 1000 - 0 - 3000 yards numbered 1000, 500, 0, 1000, 2000, 3000; first 1000 divided to 100. Reverse: Scale for ‘lateral graticules’ divided 0 - 20 numbered by 2 subdivided to 1. On opposite edge scale of ‘elevation graticules’ divided 0 - 20 numbered by 5 subdivided to 1. Wind tables and table of ‘effective zones’. Also formula to find ‘angle of quadrant elevation’.
