Description Notes
Boxwood slide rule bound in brass, with two slides.
Obverse: identical single radius log scale appears on the upper part of the stock, the first slide, the central part of the stock and the second slide (broken); it is divided 1 - 10, numbered 1, 1[.]1, 1[.], 2...2, [2.]5, 3...10. Central part of stock also carries cale divided [0.]5 - 100 for ‘seg ly’ (segment lying), numbered [0.]5, 1, [1.]5...5, 6...10, 15, 20...100. Lower part of stock carries scale marked ‘MD’ and divided [2.25] - [22], numbered [2.]5, 3...10, 11...2[0].
Reverse: upper part of stock carries scale divided 1[0] - 32, numbered by 1. First slide carries scale divided 1[0] - [95], numbered 1[0], 11, 12...2[0], [2]5...9[0]. Central part of stock carries one scale as those on obverse, also scale divided 32 - 10[0], numbered 32, 3[5], 4[0]...10[0]. Lower slide carries identical scale to that on central part of stock and those on obverse. Lower part of stock carries scale for ‘seg st’ (segment standing), divided 1 - 100, numbered 1, [1.]5...5, 6...10, 15...100.
Both edges carry two further double radius log scales.
