Description Notes
Polariscope ‘STAUROSCOPE’. Cast claw foot; oxidised brass; brass turned mount to triangular steel column; inset brass rack in upper part of column for brass mount to eyepiece socket; push fit eyepiece with brass collar in two parts with locating notches; knurled steel ring; steel draw tube to brass eye piece with rectangular slot; only a field lens extant; clamped shoe for polariser with brass socket with 2 locating notches marked 45 to 90; polarising tube; glazed aperture and divided flange 0-(360) by 10 to 1 read by vernier to 1’; push fit polariser in long brass and [silvered] tube; swinging mirror; aperture stops; various parts of unknown; 2 centigrade thermometers; fitted wooden case.
