Compound microscope, cary / gould type, in nickel-silver, circa 1840.
Racked pillar screws into the lid of the box; swinging concave mirror fits into the base of the pillar; stage mount with knurled screw operates the rack. Knurled screw fixes lens holder to head of pillar; tapered compound body with field lens and collar to eyepiece; 4 objectives numbered 1-4; lieberkuhn objective; ivory talc and ring box; stage forceps; stage live box; stage plate; black and white ground; watch glass and ground glass; swinging condenser lens; tweezers; eyepiece for simple microscope; ivory hand lens; 3 6-object ivory slides.
