Achromatic compound microscope, binocular, by Ernst Leitz, German, 1930 (c).

Black finish; horseshoe stand; column to hinge with steel bar clamp; circular rotating stage with mechanical detachable stage signed ‘Ernst Leitz Wetzlar’; brass dovetailed shoe for racked substage; fitted with condenser and iris diaphragm; signed ‘OGILVY & CO MAKERS. LONDON W 1’.
Pivoted arm carries plano/concave mirror.
Arched limb; coarse and fine focus screws; adjustable binocular body with knurled screw 55-75; push fit eye pieces. One with individual knurled ring focus; triple nose piece width 3 objectives all by Leitz and marked ‘PATH UNIV.CAMB.’
Fitted wooden case with trays for accessories - none extant.

Also - John Browning micrometer, in instrument’s box.
