Description Notes
Brass theodolite. Telescope with lens cover (stuck on). Sliding objective focus. Bubble mounted over telescope. Supported by pillar at the objective end and by vertical arc. Arc graduated 80 - 0 - 30˚ subdivided to 30’. Read by vernier mounted on the telescope. Central compass with silvered scale 30˚ either side of N. Two bubbles with mutually perpendicular axes set in the compass face. Horizontal circle on an octagonal plate and graduated on a flat edge 0 - 360æ to 30’ of arc. Read by vernier plate to 1’ of arc. Central tapered pillar fits onto tripod head.
