Loan changed to donation from 07/10/2008. On loan to museum from 1984 to 07/10/2008. Donor indicated on 07/10/2008 that this object previously belonged Charles Albert Leedham-Green, Prof. of surgery at Birmingham University. She believed it was bought in Germany, where he studied.

Description Notes

Horseshoe foot; pivoted to arched limb; black finish; swinging plano/concave mirror on arm from base of limb; circular stage with two knurled brass screws for fine movement; spring clips; substage condenser with iris diaphragm; on bar below stage, which swings into position; brass body; knurled coarse focus pinion; fine focus ring graduated 0-(50) by 5 to 1; 4 power rotating objective holder; 3 push fit eye pieces - x 5 x 10 x 15 all signed; draw tube; 3 objectives, 2 with steel cases, each signed: A8/0.2 and D40/0.65 and 1 1/12 ‘Homogene Immersion’ without case; fitted wooden box with carrying handle. Zeiss parabolic condenser in separate box; Zeiss binocular attachment ‘Nr 1444’ in separate box.
