Description Notes

“Survey Model”; brass; black finish with steel and aluminium screws and fittings. Horseshoe base; double stand to pivoting, arched limb; circular stage; knurled aluminium ring divided 0- (360) by 10 to 1, read by vernier to 5’; lacquered brass top stage with clips; rack for substage with dovetailed shoe; condenser with top lens which is mounted on an arm and swings out of the optic axis; iris diaphragm; ? stop which swings out; polariser with a flange divided 0 - (360) by 45 also on an arm so that it can swing out of the optic axis; pair of coarse focus screws either side of limb; pair of fine focus screws divided 0 - (10) by 1 where ‘1 Div = .01mm’ limb divided 0-50mm; push fit eyepiece with a slot to carry a micrometer etc.; slot in the upper part of the body for a Bertrand lens and a iris diaphragm; graduations along the edge of the slot 0 - 10 by 1; slot in the bottom end of the body tube for polariser with a flanged collar over graduated 0 90 by 45; triple nose piece; 3 objectives in original cases 1in, 1/2in, 1/4in; further slot in nose piece [analyser]. Fitted wooden box.
