Description Notes

Brass beam with two Y-shaped supports for bubble level, one adjustable for levels of different lengths. The beam is supported on three levelling feet, one of which carries a micrometer scale divided 0 - [60], 0 - [60], numbered by 10, subdivided to 1. Three brass discs to support feet.
Fitted mahogany box with brass hook fasteners, hinges and lock (part of lock a later replacement).

Described in 1894 Cavendish Laboratory alphabetical catalogue of instruments as "for measuring sensitiveness."

Condition fair (brass rather tarnished); complete.
