Description Notes

Very pale brass compass. Sector joint with steel plates, shanks bowed away from joint and hollow. Lengthening bars fit into hollow shafts of main piece. Ink bow (?) and pencil bow with iron points and any of the four points push-fitting into the hollow shafts to provide varying combinations.
Leather case with hook fastening and hinged lid.

Condition: fair (one lengthening bar stuck; box broken; 19-1-2000).
