Description Notes
Brass beam, swan’s neck ends. Steel knife edge with index over sits in notches on brass vertical with screw thread into supporting rod. Two circular brass pans with suspension cords and hooks. Fitted wooden box with hinged brass lid over slots for weights; 2 apothecary’s weights and 5 fractional weights extant. Box lined with red velvet; covered with decorated embossed paper. Hole in box for mounting support rod for balance.
