Description Notes

Steel beam and fittings; double-O beam ends; steel self-locating knife edge and ring bearings. Index over with pierced base and aperture in tip. Steel gallows with ring bearing and steel loop. Two circular copper pans with suspension cords.
Fitted wooden box; fitted for two nests of weights:
One: ‘200 gramme’ master cup with raised hinge and clasp piece on lid; inside of lid marked ‘100 GRAMME’ crown over ‘C’; base of cup marked crown over ‘C’; ‘V’; ‘V’ and crowned eagle. 8 cup weights with denomination stamped on the rim or base : 50 GRAM, 20 GRAM, 10 GRAM (two of these; 26-1-2000), 5 GRAM (?number not very legible; 26-1-2000), 2GM, 2 GRAM (1 gram not stamped). 50 gram weights stamped with all the stamps. Two: Master cup with raised hinge and clasp piece on lid. Lid decorated with concentric circles and a well-raised knife. No calibration but whole weight 244.7 gm = 1 mark. [Bryden catalogue] (Seven cup weights. Largest cup weight stamped II0. Next stamped I0. Three others just stamped with stars, two not stamped. 26-1-2000).
Two slots for fractional weights one with 5, the other with 3 weights (all stamped; 26-1-2000).
Box with paper label in lid and hook fastenings. (Some writing on box lid?; 26-1-2000).

Condition: good; complete?.
