Description Notes
Steel beam and fittings (badly rusted and not original) - ring-neck beam ends, index pointer above knife and ring bearing. Gallows with ring bearing. Brass pans, one circular and one triangular with maker’s stamp. Cords for suspension (one broken on triangular pan; 26-1-2000). Fitted oak box with slots for 5 weights; lidded slot for 5 fractional weights. Further eight slots in lid with sliding cover. All weights extant. (Writing above each slot; 26-1-2000). Paper label on lid of slot in box lid with engraving of death (skeleton) holding hour-glass and other figures.
Box with geometricised floral tooling. Hook fastening.
Condition: fair (rusty).
