Description Notes

Lozenge-shaped ivory tablet; hinged brass vertical support for string gnomon; raised decoration and figures for 3 attachment points at 48, 45 and 42; horizontal dial with hour scale divided 4 - 12, 1 - 8, numbered by 1, subdivided to 30 minutes; hand-painted gold compass card with NS line offset for magnetic variation at 10˚E of North. Verso of base engraved with decoration of a vase of flowers.

Condition: fair; complete.
