Description Notes
Oxidised brass compass box with hinged lid and shackle. Green compass card graduated 0-360˚ in single degrees and with cardinal points. Read by prism through window in (?)aluminium clinometer dial. Clinometer scale graduated 90-0-90˚ and 144-0-144 inches per yard. Angle of elevation or depression read by aligning slit back sight over prism with window fore-sight in open box lid. Locking spring and bar for both dials.
