Provenance

The connection of this object to the Whipple Collection is uncertain. The accession register records that Robert Stewart Whipple bought a weight in Dover in 01/1923. This entry has been subsequently altered to read "Money scales and weights in leather covered box,” but this alteration may reflect a correction to the original entry rather than the reallocation of the accession number. See 0089 for an entry on the same page that has been corrected in the same hand.
