Description Notes

Steel beam and fittings; self-locating steel knife edge; cord gallows (gold? top) and ring bearing, steel hook with tassel; steel index with blued base. Circular gold pans suspended by cords (box beam ends, part gold (?); 10-2-2000).
Wooden box with brass hook catches. Fitted for weights. Seven square gold weights, each surmounted by a knob, numbered 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
(Gold maker’s plate forms hinge lid for slot for fractional weights. Five fractional weights extant. Made of tortoise shell, and marked by dots, one to six; two is missing; 10-2-2000).

Incomplete (one fractional weight missing).
