Wollaston type goniometer, by Cary, 1820 (c)

Circular wooden base; pair of sloping supports to rotating shaft supporting circular brass dial engraved around the edge 0 - 180 x 2 by 10 to 30’; read by vernier to 1’; knurled ring rotates dial; second knurled ring rotates crystal holder mounted in front of dial.
(Crystal holder has pivoting section, and brass rod with slot in is turned, raised and lowered by third knurled knob; 27-1-2000).

Condition: good/fair.
