Description Notes

Brass spectro-helioscope slit, steel jaws, mounted on cast iron mount. Slit width adjustable by micrometer screw, drum divided 0-0.0033 by 0.0001 moving over linear scale divided 0-0.08 by 0.0033. Slit inclination adjustable by knurled screw with index moving over degree scale divided -8 (?) - 0 - 3 degrees, subdivided to 10’ and by vernier to 20”. Slit height adjustable by 2 sliding brass stops, and by two internal sliding stops moved by knurled screw behind. Hinged screw-on cover at back. Cast mount has 5 bolt holes and one steel locating rod.
