Description Notes
Folding wine and spirit dipping rule in 6 sections extends to 5 feet when open. Brass hinges and end-bindings.
Side A: inch scale divided [0] - 60 numbered by 1 (except 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50) subdivided to 0.1.
Side B: One end gives 4 scales for gallons lying divided [0] - 6; [0] - 8; [0] - 10; and [0] -12 each numbered by 1 and subdivided to 1 quart. Other end gives 4 scales for gallons standing divided [0] - 10; [0] -12; [0] - 16; and [0] - 20 each numbered by 1 (partially). First 2 scales divided to 1 quart.
Side C: One end has scales of gallons lying divided [0] - 16; [0] - 20; [0] - 63 (given as ‘W Hogshead’; [0] - 31 1/2 (given as ‘W HF Hogshead’) numbered by 5 subdivided to 1. Other end carries scales for gallons standing divided [0] - 4; [0] - 5; [0] - 6; and [0] - 8 each numbered by 1 subdivided to 1 quart
Side D: One end carries 2, one for scales for quarts standing divided [0] - 8 numbered by 1; the other for gallons standing divided [0] - 3 numbered by 1 subdivided to 1 quart. Other end carries one scale for quarts lying divided [0] - 8 numbered by 1. 3 scales for gallons lying divided [0] - 3; [0] - 4; and [0] - 5 each numbered by 1 subdivided to 1 quart. Central section carries scale for ‘wine diagonal’ divided 4 - 300 numbered 4,5 ... 10, 20 ... 160, 190, 200 ... 300.
