Perspective drawing instrument, by Francis Ronalds, English, c. 1828.
Perspective drawing instrument consisting of 3 sections: Blued steel beam with brass pulleys at either end; brass clamping arm topped by brass disc with central hole (size of aperture can be altered by pivotted steel plate); 4 hinged rods: 2 brass, 1 black-painted brass, and 1 steel. Painted arm carries pulley at one end; steel arm carries bras slide with ball jointed screw (purpose unknown). 4 small brass pins. Cylindrical fitted leather covered wooden case with brass hook fasteners lined with red velvet.
