Description Notes
Black-painted iron tripod base supporting turned brass column. Polarimeter mounted horizontally on top of column, can be rotated and moved up and down but not tilted. Main tube is black-painted white metal; hinges open to allow location sample tube inside. Pushfit objective; prism can be rotated by gearing operated from eye-end. Eye-end has two eyepieces, upper to allow comparison with original beam of light; both have pushfit eyepieces. White metal scale moves in a lateral plane between the eyepieces and the sample; divided 30 - 0 - [110], numbered by 10, subdivided to 1; Vernier gives reading to 0.1.
