Description Notes

Engine indicator. Cylindrical valve which can be attached to engine being analysed by threaded stop cock. Piston on top of valve is attached to a steel arm with a stylus on one end which records the pressure on a white metal drum. This drum is rotated by means of a waxed string which unwinds from the base of the drum.
Fitted wooden box with white metal hinges and lock; carrying handle very corroded. Lined with brown velvet. Compartment in lid for drum papers (none extant). Box also contains eleven spare springs and four other replacement items for the indicator.

Condition good (apart from corrosion on box handle); complete.
