Description Notes

Three-cup anemometer in fitted box. 3 cups. Instrument is in three parts (11-1-2000). 3 plastic coated sheets held by clip in lid showing calibration curve. For wind speeds of between 0-15 metres per second. Instructions for assembling cups inside box. Further instruction leaflet missing. Label on top of box, dated 8-1981.

Description
This anemometer can measure wind speeds of up to 15 metres per second – equivalent to 3.4 knots – the knot, or nautical mile, being the international unit for measuring wind speeds. Each rotation of the cups sends an electrical pulse which is converted at the register to show the wind velocity.
