Description Notes
Black-painted cast iron base with A-frame supports for horizontal brass beam. The polariser is fixed to this beam. Black-painted sample holder, missing cover. Push-fit double-lens brass objective. Brass eyepiece with screwfit lens and pin for altering angle of analyser crystal. Circle scale in form of ship’s wheel divided [5.6] - 0 - [35.6], numbered by 1, subdivided to 0.1; oxidised brass indicator moves over scale. Window close to central tube reveals ivory vernier with main scale divided 10 - 0 - 60, numbered by 10, subdivided to 1 and vernier scale giving readings to 0.1.
Condition good; complete.
