Description Notes
First part: Black-painted metal instrument. Carrying handles at sides; ventilation grills on sides and back. Back has connection points for various electrical leads. Front carries the instrumentation panel. This consists of dials for recording and reproduction level, selection between recording and reproduction, filter choice, monitor gain, band selector, mark level and sectioner; loudspeaker; on/off switch, microphone input, recording light and galvanometer divided -20 - +3 and also [0] - 100.
Various leads for connection to mains and for microphone.
Comes with original instruction manual, instructions written in the department, a log book (with dates in 1979) and spare scales.
Second part: Square box covered in mock leather with leather reinforcements at the corners. Ventilation grills on sides. Hinged cover at back for electrical connections. Two black-plastic carrying handles on sides. On top of the unit sits a white metal recording drum with base scale divided 1 - 24, numbered by 1. A short bar carries the recording pen, this bar moves up and down a vertical screw and is connected to the first part of the instrument by the electrical leads. Cover is held to box by four white metal clips.
