Description Notes

Wool fibre comparator in wooden case. Front of case hinges in half to reveal light source and joint stages for positioning slide, with microscope objectives behind. These objectives are set on the ends of twin microscopes which sit in the main body of the instrument and the image appears on two mirrors set at the far end of the instrument from the illuminant. Hinged frosted glass plate at objective end of body.
Hinged lid of case contains perspex disc on metal stem, which provides comparison widths from 0.01mm to 0.036mm. Four glass microscope slides.

Canvas strap around case with buckle.

Condition good; complete.
