Description Notes

Oxidised brass telescope with pushfit eye-end (with crosshairs), adjustable by knurled brass screw, and pushfit eyepiece; screwfit objective with pushfit cover. Mounted above the telescope is a graduated bubble level, with a second, smaller, level set perpendicular at one end.
The level has a screwfit mount for attachment to an oxidised brass tripod mounting. The tripod mounting has four levelling screws.
Fitted mahogany box with brass hinges, hook fasteners and lock (no key); partially lined with green baize; contains spare eyepiece; paper label in lid giving details of repair by Stanley & Co in 1952. Evidence of a leather carrying strap having been attached to the box at the ends.

Condition fair (sticky label on objective cover); complete
